About
My name is Sergey Silaev. Online, I go by Sergey SAV (comes from my last name).
My career began around 2001 in UNIX-like system administration and information security. Since 2015, I’ve fully transitioned into software development, designing and building secure, reliable software, mostly for startups.
I love working with Python, Rust, and Go, and I’m passionate about everything around the CLI. A longtime Linux user (since ~2001), I enjoy tools like neovim, tmux, tig, fzf, ripgrep, just, zoxide, mtr, wrk, restic, syncthing, st, alacritty, and many more. I’m also passionate about solving problems and turning ideas into software that makes a real difference.
I live in Novi Sad and am partially available for development consulting. I speak English, Russian and a little Serbian.
The best way to reach me is usually by Email (PGP), or by sending me a message via LinkedIn, or X (Twitter).
